Based on your knowledge of the new court case decisions and laws created from the Civil Rights Movement, explain how exactly the Civil Rights Movement expanded the powers and scope of the federal government. In other words, how do you think the creation and enforcement of the new civil rights laws necessitate the expansion of the federal government’s size and powers?
